Cheesy Garlic Bread

Ingredients

For the Garlic Butter:

12 garlic cloves, 60 ml olive oil, 150 grams unsalted butter at room temperature, 1 teaspoon paprika, ½ teaspoon salt, 3 tablespoons finely chopped fresh parsley

For the Bread:

1 large loaf of bread, 250 grams grated mozzarella cheese

For Serving:

Finely chopped fresh parsley, paprika

Method

1. Preheat the Oven

Preheat the oven to 200°C using conventional top and bottom heat. Line a large baking tray with parchment paper.

2. Heat the Olive Oil

Pour the olive oil into a small frying pan and warm it over medium-low heat.

3. Cook the Garlic

Add the peeled garlic cloves to the warm oil. Cook gently for approximately 5–7 minutes, turning occasionally, until the cloves are golden and tender. Take care not to burn them.

4. Combine the Garlic and Butter

Place the softened butter in a large bowl. Pour the cooked garlic cloves and warm olive oil over the butter.

5. Prepare the Garlic Butter

Mash the garlic cloves into the butter with a fork. Add the paprika, salt, and finely chopped parsley, then mix until everything is evenly combined.

6. Prepare the Bread

Cut the loaf in half lengthwise and place both halves on the prepared baking tray with the cut sides facing up.

7. Spread the Garlic Butter

Spread the garlic butter generously and evenly over the entire cut surface of each bread half.

8. Add the Mozzarella

Cover both bread halves evenly with the grated mozzarella cheese, extending it all the way to the edges.

9. Bake the Bread

Bake in the preheated oven for approximately 8–10 minutes, until the cheese has completely melted and the bread is hot and crisp around the edges.

10. Brown the Cheese

Switch the oven to the broiler setting and cook for another 1–2 minutes, or until the cheese develops golden-brown spots. Watch closely to prevent burning.

11. Garnish

Remove the bread from the oven. Sprinkle with additional paprika and finely chopped fresh parsley.

12. Slice and Serve

Cut the cheesy garlic bread into thick slices and serve immediately while the cheese is hot and stretchy.
