Cheesy Sausage Pizza Skillet

Ingredients

For the Sausage Mixture:

300 grams cocktail sausages or hot dogs, 1 tablespoon olive oil, 200 ml pizza sauce, 1 tablespoon tomato paste, ½ teaspoon dried oregano, ¼ teaspoon red pepper flakes, ¼ teaspoon black pepper

For the Creamy Cheese Layer:

100 ml heavy cream, 200 grams grated mozzarella cheese

Method

1. Slice the Sausages

Cut the cocktail sausages or hot dogs into small, evenly sized rounds.

2. Heat the Pan

Heat the olive oil in a large frying pan over medium heat.

3. Cook the Sausages

Add the sliced sausages and cook for approximately 4–5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until lightly browned.

4. Add the Tomato Paste

Add the tomato paste and cook for approximately 1 minute, stirring until it evenly coats the sausages.

5. Add the Pizza Sauce

Pour the pizza sauce into the pan. Add the dried oregano, red pepper flakes, and black pepper.

6. Simmer the Sauce

Stir thoroughly and simmer over medium-low heat for 2–3 minutes, allowing the sauce to thicken slightly.

7. Add the Cream

Pour the heavy cream evenly over the sausage mixture.

8. Add the Mozzarella

Sprinkle the grated mozzarella across the entire surface.

9. Melt the Cheese

Cover the pan and cook over low heat for approximately 3–4 minutes, until the cheese is completely melted and the sauce is bubbling.

10. Combine the Layers

Remove the lid and gently stir the mixture, allowing the melted cheese to blend partially with the tomato sauce.

11. Transfer to a Serving Dish

Spoon the cheesy sausage mixture into a wide serving bowl while it is still hot.

12. Serve

Serve immediately while the sauce is hot and the mozzarella is melted and stretchy. Enjoy on its own or with toasted bread.
