Flower Garden Egg Omelet

Ingredients

For the Omelet:

3 large eggs, 1 teaspoon olive oil or butter, ¼ teaspoon salt, 1 small pinch black pepper

For the Flower Design:

80 grams sweetcorn kernels, 3 long chives or thin strips of green onion, 6 small baby spinach or basil leaves, ¼ small carrot, 6 black sesame seeds, 3 thin strips of red bell pepper

Method

1. Separate the Eggs

Carefully separate the egg yolks from the whites. Keep each yolk intact and place all the egg whites in a small bowl.

2. Prepare the Pan

Lightly grease a large non-stick frying pan with olive oil or butter. Keep the pan off the heat while assembling the flower design.

3. Create the Flower Petals

Arrange the sweetcorn kernels in three evenly spaced circles, positioning each kernel like a flower petal.

4. Add the Egg Yolks

Carefully place one egg yolk in the center of each circle of sweetcorn.

5. Add the Egg Whites

Slowly pour the egg whites into the empty areas around the flowers. Tilt the pan gently if necessary to distribute the whites evenly without covering the yolks.

6. Create the Stems

Place one chive or thin strip of green onion beneath each flower to create the stems.

7. Add the Leaves

Arrange two baby spinach or basil leaves alongside each stem.

8. Create the Faces

Place two black sesame seeds on each yolk to form the eyes. Add a thin strip of red bell pepper beneath the eyes to create a smiling mouth.

9. Add the Carrot

Finely dice the carrot and scatter it along the lower edge of the pan to resemble small flowers growing beneath the stems.

10. Season

Sprinkle the egg whites lightly with salt and black pepper, avoiding the decorative details.

11. Cook the Omelet

Place the pan over low heat and cover it with a lid. Cook for approximately 4–5 minutes, until the egg whites are fully set and the yolks are cooked to your preferred consistency.

12. Serve

Carefully slide the omelet onto a large serving plate, keeping the flower design intact. Serve immediately while warm.
