Ham and Cheese Omelet Sandwich

Ingredients

For the Omelet Sandwich:

6 large eggs, 2 teaspoons butter or olive oil, ½ teaspoon salt, ¼ teaspoon black pepper, 4 slices melting cheese, 3 slices deli ham

Method

1. Prepare the Egg Mixture

Crack the eggs into a large bowl. Add the salt and black pepper, then whisk until the yolks and whites are fully combined.

2. Heat the Pan

Heat a large non-stick frying pan over medium-low heat. Add half of the butter or olive oil and spread it evenly across the surface.

3. Cook the First Omelet

Pour half of the egg mixture into the pan. Tilt the pan to create a thin, even layer and cook for approximately 2–3 minutes, until the omelet is fully set.

4. Remove the First Omelet

Carefully lift the cooked omelet from the pan using a wide spatula. Transfer it to a plate and set it aside.

5. Cook the Second Omelet

Add the remaining butter or olive oil to the pan. Pour in the remaining egg mixture and cook over medium-low heat until almost completely set.

6. Add the First Cheese Layer

Arrange two slices of cheese over the second omelet while it is still in the pan.

7. Add the Ham

Place the slices of deli ham evenly over the cheese.

8. Add the Remaining Cheese

Cover the ham with the remaining cheese slices.

9. Complete the Sandwich

Place the reserved omelet over the filling, aligning it with the omelet underneath to create a round sandwich.

10. Cook Until Golden

Continue cooking over medium-low heat until the bottom is golden brown and the cheese begins to melt. Carefully flip the omelet sandwich and brown the other side.

11. Fold the Omelet Sandwich

Fold the round omelet sandwich in half using a wide spatula. Press it gently and cook for another minute, until the cheese is fully melted.

12. Slice and Serve

Transfer the omelet sandwich to a serving plate. Cut it into triangular pieces and serve immediately while the cheese is hot and stretchy.
